Building and Growing a Skill-Based Gaming Product

← Back to selected work
THE PROBLEM

What needed to change

As an early-stage skill-based gaming platform, BattleBucks was building out the core product while also figuring out how to acquire, engage, and retain users.

WHAT I DID

From ambiguity to a plan

As one of the early team members, I worked across the product lifecycle — identifying opportunities, defining and prioritizing features, and partnering with engineering and design to take ideas from concept through launch. I also used product and customer data to inform decisions throughout the process.

THE SOLUTION

Turning the plan into something real

I helped build key parts of the product, including the dual-currency economy, referral rewards, and user engagement mechanics. After launch, I used funnel and cohort analysis and A/B testing to understand user behavior, evaluate performance, and guide further iterations.

IMPACT
~15%

improvement in user retention through product experiments and feature iterations, while helping deliver core product capabilities as the platform grew.
